Catherine’s Palace is located in the town of Pushkin, approximately 25 km from St Petersburg. In earlier times the palace, also known as Ekaterina Palace, was a residence of the tsar. In the Second World War the building was badly damaged but later rebuilt as close as possible to the original. The Amber Room, which has been reconstructed in the palace, is a particular tourist attraction.
